Jayne has been an educator in Southern Nevada for the last 12 years, working in social studies, special education, instructional coaching, and as a district and school administrator. Currently, Jayne is an educational program consultant for the Nevada Department of Education overseeing social studies and world language for the state.
During the time as a district administrator for Clark County School District, Jayne was the curriculum coordinator over social studies. She worked closely with Senator Joyce Woodhouse to construct and pass SB249, which lead to financial literacy standards for grades to 3-12 and making economics a required course in high school.
Jayne is very passionate about financial literacy and economics, believing that both of these contents imparts knowledge and skills that students must have in order to be career and college ready. She believes these skills are criticial for creating engaging and contributing community members.
